What to Expect
INFANTS
We know that leaving your new baby for the first time can be overwhelming. The volunteers in our infant classrooms have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies and their training to care for all of the needs of your infant. We hope that the following information will help you. Please bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers, and any special blanket that will soothe your baby throughout the morning.
Label all items that belong to your baby. Please communicate details concerning feeding and napping schedules to our volunteers as you check your child into the nursery.
Toys and other items used by children are regularly sanitized to protect our kids.
Ones and Twos
This is a fun and active stage in your child’s life! Our teaching plan begins in our Two year old classrooms. All activities are age-appropriate with plenty of flexibility for the normal needs of two-year-olds. Your child will participate in many age-appropriate, creative activities throughout the morning. We believe in an active, hands-on approach with our kids, so be on the lookout for those fun projects!
We provide toys, activities, and snacks in the classrooms. We serve Goldfish, Animal Crackers, Cheerios, & Apple Juice. If your child has any allergies or special dietary needs and cannot eat what we have provided, please inform the teachers and bring appropriate snacks for them.
Please do not bring extra toys since it is hard to distinguish what belongs to whom. This can cause the children unnecessary frustration when they are asked to share something that was brought from home. It is also frustrating for you when toys are left at church.
Be sure to bring extra diapers and a change of clothes. Label all items, including cups, pacifiers, etc.
Toys and other items used by children are regularly sanitized to protect our kids.
Safe & Secure
We are serious about keeping kids safe! At The Bridge, we are committed to providing an environment in which kids and parents feel safe & secure. As a part of our child protection policy, all of our children’s leaders and volunteers have submitted to a background check.
You will receive a number tab that matches one that remains with your child. You will need to show this when picking up your child. We ask that you do not send older siblings under 14 to pick up your child.
If we need to reach you during a service, the number on your tab will be displayed on the wall monitor to the right of the stage. If you see your child’s number, please come quickly to the preschool area.
Our sick policy is as follows:
For the protection of your child and other children, parents are requested not to bring a child who is ill and is asked to pick up a child who becomes ill. A child should not be placed in the nursery/preschool when any of the following symptoms exist:
- Current fever or within previous 24 hours
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Significant, persistent nasal drainage which is green or yellow in color
- Any symptom of a childhood disease, such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, or chicken pox
- Any unexplained rash or skin infection
- Pink eye or other eye infection

Goldfish Club
We make it easy for you to serve at The Bridge! The Goldfish Club is for kids whose parents serve somewhere on Sunday mornings and stay for both services. The Goldfish Club kids participate in the 3’s & 4’s classroom during the first service. During the second service, Goldfish Club kids move to a separate area. Here, they have a chance to play and participate in other planned, fun activities. For information on how you can serve, contact April at amoses112@gmail.com.
