Echo Project

“Loose Change to Loosen Chains” is a campaign based out of International Justice Mission that rescues victims of modern day slavery. International Justice Mission is a human rights organization that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression. This campaign gives students a chance to be real abolitionists! According to “Real Simple” Magazine, there is $10.5 billion in loose change lying around in American households. All funds raised by the campaign will go toward IJM’s work to free slaves and other victims of oppression. Students will be given the opportunity to collect loose change, and at the end of the month, we will send a check to IJM and the money will be used to help free the victims. Globally, there are more than two million children alone in bonded slavery. They suffer at the hands of slave holders and are robbed of their childhood. Please support the children and students as they “Seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan and plead for the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17) Please pray they will experience the pleasure of God as they partner with Him to bring freedom to those He loves. Beginning next Sunday, you can bring your change to The Bridge. For more information, visit the Loose Change booth. You can also visit International Justice Mission's website at www.ijm.org

TOMS Shoes

TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: For every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what they're all about. Most children in developing countries grow up barefoot. Whether at play, doing chores, or just getting around, these children are at risk. Walking is often the primary mode of transportation in developing countries. Children can walk for miles to get food, water, shelter and medical help. Wearing shoes literally enables them to walk distances that aren't possible barefoot. Wearing shoes prevents feet from getting cuts and sores on unsafe roads and from contaminated soil. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected. The leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted parasites which penetrate the skin through open sores. Wearing shoes can prevent this and the risk of amputation. Many times children can't attend school barefooted because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realize their potential. There is one simple solution...SHOES.

Of the planet's six billion people, four billion live in conditions inconceivable to many. Lets take a step towards a better tomorrow. For every pair of shoes you purchase from TOMS, they will give a pair to a child in need. TOMS' goal is to give 300,000 pairs of shoes this year. Visit the TOMS booth or visit their website at www.tomsshoes.com. You can also purchase TOMS at Sun & Ski at Opry Mills.

Compassion International
Compassion International exists as an advocate for children - to release them from their spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults. Nearly 27,000 children younger than five die each day, mainly from preventable causes. By sponsoring a child, they can be embraced in love and given the opportunity to escape the cycle of poverty and despair. They can step into a future filled with hope. Today, more than one million children in 25 countries are registered in Compassion's program.Your tax-deductible contribution of just $38 a month connects your child with a loving, church-based child sponsorship program that provides: food and clean water, medical care, educational opportunities, important life-skills training. Most importantly, your sponsored child will hear about Jesus Christ and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with God. When you sign up to sponsor a child, you will receive a sponsorship packet with your child's information. You will be able to write them letters and receive updates about them. Support a Compassion child as a family, a life group, or an individual. Visit the Compassion booth and get more information at www.compassion.com.
