History of The Bridge

The Bridge began with a dream of Phil and Sharra Wilson in 2005. The only attendees at its start were Phil, Sharra, their four children, along with 3 other staff members and their families. Attendance has exploded from 14 to 675 in almost 5 years.

Phil and Sharra felt the call on their lives in March of 2005 and began praying and planting seeds for this new church. After deciding on the place, Mt. Juliet, they began to assemble people from around the community that could help in starting the church with them.

From the end of March - June, 2005, they began holding "vision casting" meetings which drew around 25 people. They decided to hold three preview services in June, July, and August and then launch the church in September. Each preview service grew and on September 18, 2005 they held their first service in which 328 attended.

To date at The Bridge, we have over 400 members. Each member is required to sign a membership covenant.

We ask 5 things of our members:

1. To be a follower of Jesus Christ

2 To be involed in ministry (over 93% of our members are serving in ministry)

3. To be involved in a Life Group (over 320 of our members are in a small group)

4. To consistently tithe

5. To protect the unity of our church

We are excited about the history of our church but we are more excited about the future because we know that God will do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or imagine.
